The MET application as a piece of software is worthy of the name. From the simple timeless design to the functionality this application does not disappoint. From the home page you get an idea of how well crafted the app is with The MET and its subsidiary buildings displayed along with a high quality image and their purpose. From there when one navigates the app users can quickly get an idea of the latest exhibitions, the highlighted and most popular exhibitions, as well as staff picks, exhibitions and workshops open to registered members and more. When selecting an exhibition you will be able to read a short summary about it, get an idea of it with a provided image as well as having the option to add it to your calendar, favorite it and locate where it is in the museum whether by description or map. Its running date is also listed. Users are also given the option of selecting the website link below each exhibition page to get more information. Users can not only browse and read about exhibitions but also shop. This feature isnt native to the application as you will be taken to the website. Users can also register from the app and become a member. One of the things I would like to see added to the app is a video section highlighting past popular exhibitions and events such as the MET Gala as this has become something that the institution is known for and could work to draw more users in. The MET application has appeal for all types of users whether they just want to see what is new or those who want to discover all the exhibitions.
