It would be a great app if it included a map. As it is, its close to useless.

...as American museum of natural history. They had a much better app.
This isnt an app--its a flashy, "design-y" version of the Mets website with way less information. Over-hyped major let down. It makes me think less of the Met.
It is really worthless!!!!!
This app lacks a map or plan of the museum, which renders it virtually useless.
I downloaded this in the cafe because I forgot to get a map. Now I have no idea how to get back to the front and get one. I am lost. Thanks for nothing!
What is the point if there is no map?!
I found this app VERY hard to navigate. For what you charge to get in and the endowments the Met has, I cant believe this is the best you can do. Check out the National Galleries App.
Most, if not all, of the other reviews have mentioned the egregious omission of an interactive map of the museum (and the Cloisters), so Ill simply mention that it should be the Digital Departments highest priority moving forward. Just as important, however, is access to the entire collection database— or at the very least, that which is available online. I am slightly insulted that the objects are pre-curated for me in cutesy categories (Met-staches? Please.) instead of me being able to access the records of any object-- on view or not-- myself.
There is no map, or way to look up pieces. The website is more helpful than this.
Agree with all other reviewers-amazed that MET cant splurge another $2000 to an app dev to add a map tab. A useless vehicle to show off what they have and not what the user wants! For shame!
Why am I not surprised that this app is useless? Everyone else said it: this needs a map. Although given how poorly designed their printed maps are and the whole museum signage, their map would also be a mess.
No Map, and crashes every few minutes. useless...
The Met is enormous with hundreds of exhibits. So any app should include a search function so that you can avoid scrolling and scrolling through the lists. But NO! There is no search function in this app.
Love seeing whats in the exhibitions.
The first thing I would do is put in a map! How do you not do that? Then I would have the map detect GPS coordinates to show where on the map you are.
Not worth any storage space on your device. This is nothing more than a severely reduced version of the website, with nearly zero functionality. Nothing more than a flimsy tourist brochure.
So much could have been done in this app to help visitor to the Met. A map, as some have pointed, out already been very useful. A live updating one even more so. Scannable QR code support, an audio guide, practical information such as locations of rest rooms, cafe hours, so on, would add value. As it stands the primary reason to use this app is to gain information on museum events.
The "American Louvre", as I call it, deserves better. First off, it needs a map. It should have a map of the Main Building and the Cloisters. Also, it could have more in the permanent collection, rather than just the temporary exhibits.
The main reason I downloaded this app was for the audio guide. I like listening to information about the objects Im looking at, yet I was unable to as the audio constantly buffered. I tried both my cellular connection and the museums free wifi, brighter worked.
